Job Details:
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, one-year visiting faculty position to start August 1, 2025 at the assistant professor level. This is a one-year visiting appointment with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate-level statistics/mathematics courses, creating and supervising academic opportunities for students beyond the classroom, and contributing to the department through service.
We welcome candidates who demonstrate the potential for excellent undergraduate teaching; a desire to be an active citizen in the department; a commitment to or interest in the liberal arts; a desire to engage students outside the classroom in activities such as undergraduate research, service projects, or internships; and readiness to develop and/or implement pedagogies that promote the learning of students of all backgrounds.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Statistics or Mathematics or a closely related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor until a Ph.D. is obtained.
